Eight strangers, lured by the promise of a starring role in a horror film, find themselves trapped inside a decaying mental asylum. What they thought was a paid acting gig quickly descends into a nightmare as they realize they are the subjects of a twisted psychological experiment designed to unravel their darkest instincts. The air thickens with dread as the boundaries between victim and perpetrator blur, and paranoia festers. Tim Burke masterfully crafts a claustrophobic descent into madness, where the real horror is not the ghosts that haunt the corridors, but the demons that awaken within. A chilling and thought-provoking exploration of human nature, The Lucifer Effect will leave you questioning how far you would go when the mask of civilization is stripped away.

“This movie got under my skin in a way few horror films do. The atmosphere is suffocating and the psychological tension just keeps ratcheting up. The cast did an amazing job portraying the slow breakdown of sanity. That final twist left me staring at the screen for a good five minutes.”
“Solid horror flick with a great concept. The first half is genuinely creepy, and the mental asylum setting is perfect. I felt the second half leaned a bit too much on jump scares, but the character dynamics kept me hooked. Overall, a worthwhile scare for any horror fan.”
“For me, this is exactly what the genre needs more of: intelligent, character-driven horror. The idea of 'The Lucifer Effect' is unsettling on its own, but watching it unfold in this cast is terrifying. The acting is raw, and the slow burn pays off with a climax that hits like a sledgehammer.”
“I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a 2017 direct-to-streaming flick, but this surprised me. The eerie sound design and the oppressive setting really got to me. It's a bit slow at times, but the creeping dread made it worth it. Definitely one I'll rewatch.”
