In the chaos of 1793 Poland, young nobleman Jakub is freed from imprisonment during the Prussian invasion, only to be plunged into a nightmare of betrayal and death. Witnessing his father’s murder and the collapse of his world, Jakub becomes a hollow vessel for violence, guided by a sinister figure who promises salvation but leads him on a brutal rampage. As he descends into madness, the lines between loyalty, guilt, and revenge blur, painting a harrowing portrait of a soul consumed by the darkness of history. Zulawski’s masterful direction crafts an oppressive, feverish atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll.

User Reviews
HorrorVault – 8/10
“This is not a film for the faint-hearted. The descent into madness is relentless and the atmosphere is suffocating. I felt the terror in my bones.”
ArtHouseAddict – 7/10
“Visually stunning and emotionally harrowing. The lead actor's performance is raw and unsettling, though the narrative could be challenging to follow at times.”
GoreHound – 5/10
“I appreciate the artistic vision but found it too slow and overly bleak. The violence is more psychological than visceral, which was a letdown for me.”
NightOwl – 9/10
“A masterpiece of existential horror. The way it blends historical trauma with personal guilt is haunting. I couldn't shake it off for days.”
