In the shadow of Mount Merapi, the village of Karangnongko is haunted by the malevolent spirit Nyi Patek, who once terrorized the land by kidnapping children to serve her dark bidding. But when the mystic Ki Iklik imprisons her in a deep well, the village believes their nightmare is over—until a jathilan dancer named Ayu, bound to the hermitage by a mysterious connection, begins to unravel the threads of a forgotten curse. As Ayu’s premonitions blur the line between reality and the spirit world, she realizes that the well’s seal is weakening, and Nyi Patek’s hunger for vengeance is far from buried. With every dance and every ritual, Ayu edges closer to a terrifying truth that could either save the village or awaken an ancient evil more powerful than any legend.
