Set against the haunting backdrop of post-war Korea, a weary father and his young son seek refuge in a remote mountain village, only to find themselves ensnared in a web of ancient secrets and unsettling rituals. As the locals’ hospitality turns cryptic and the nights grow eerily silent, the pair must confront a malevolent presence that feeds on fear and memory. Director Kwang-tae Kim crafts a slow-burning descent into madness, where every shadow hides a whisper and every villager’s smile conceals a threat. A chilling exploration of trauma and superstition, Sonnim will leave you questioning the true cost of survival.

User Reviews
GhostWatcher – 7/10
“The atmosphere is thick with dread, and the rural Korean setting is perfect for this kind of eerie tale. The build-up is slow, but the payoff is genuinely unsettling. If you have patience, it's worth it.”
HorrorHound – 6/10
“It's a decent folk horror that relies on mood over jump scares. The acting is solid, but the pacing dragged in the middle. Still, the haunting imagery stuck with me.”
ScreamQueen77 – 5/10
“I wanted to love this, but it felt a bit too obscure for my taste. The horror takes a backseat to the drama, and I was left wanting more scares. Fans of slow-burn might enjoy it more.”
VoodooVera – 8/10
“This one got under my skin! The isolation of the village and the menacing villagers created a constant sense of unease. The ending left me disturbed, and I'll be thinking about it for a while.”
