In the unsettling shadows of 1960s Los Angeles, ‘Mondo Keyhole’ follows Howard Thorne, a man whose predatory impulses blur the line between reality and nightmare. As he stalks and terrorizes women, his violent fantasies begin to consume him, leaving him—and us—uncertain of what is true. His heroin-addicted wife, Vicki, spirals in a desperate bid for his attention, but the film’s true horror lies in its unflinching look at a psyche unraveling under the weight of its own darkness. With a gritty, exploitative edge and an eerie atmosphere, this cult oddity offers a disturbing journey into the mind of a monster.

User Reviews
CelluloidScream – 6/10
“Not perfect—the pacing drags in places—but there's something genuinely unsettling about the way Howard drifts between fantasy and reality. The gritty 60s vibe adds a raw edge. Worth a look if you dig psychological horror.”
NightmareJunkie – 5/10
“I wanted to like this more than I did. The concept is interesting but the execution feels dated and some scenes just fall flat. The lead gives a decent creep performance, but the film didn't quite chill me the way I hoped.”
GialloFanatic – 7/10
“A real curiosity piece. I loved the blurred line between dream and reality, and the atmospheric Los Angeles locations are a plus. It's far from perfect, but for fans of unconventional horror, it's a hidden gem.”
HorrorHistoryBuff – 4/10
“As a fan of the era, I appreciate its ambition, but the execution is weak. The story meanders and the disturbing subject matter isn't handled with enough depth. Only for the completists.”
