In the shadow of the 1960s underground, ‘Flaming Creatures’ unfurls as a fever dream of glitter, flesh, and delirium. Jack Smith’s transgressive masterpiece plunges you into a decaying cabaret where androgynous specters writhe in a haze of lipstick and longing, the camera caressing every grotesque and beautiful detail. As an earthquake shatters their fragile reverie, the boundary between desire and decay blurs, leaving only the echo of a lost, forbidden paradise. A cult artifact that feels both timeless and dangerously alive, it’s a lurid, hypnotic descent into the rawest impulses of the human soul.
