In a quiet suburban living room, the Pollard family sits unnervingly calm, discussing their imminent demise from an atom bomb with unsettling placidity. As the conversation drifts, Mrs. Pollard reveals a harrowing dream where she sensually bathes in the ‘Tears of Neglected Children,’ a grotesque ritual that blurs the line between maternal comfort and macabre obsession. What unfolds is a slow-burning psychological descent, where domestic banality masks a creeping horror that festers beneath the surface. Directed by Ike Sanders, this unsettling 2009 cult oddity wraps existential dread in a veneer of artificial serenity, leaving viewers haunted by its surreal imagery and quiet, creeping unease.
