Deep within the shadows of modern science lies a forbidden secret, one that blurs the line between miracle and nightmare. Dr. Abey Reed, a brilliant but tormented Native American scientist, defies all ethical limits to restore her dying mentor, the ancient Magpie, to the bloom of youth. But when the grotesque cost of her experiment emerges, the volunteers who once begged for her touch become pawns in a terrifying spiral of unnatural transformation. As the walls close in and the darkness grows, Abey must confront the true price of playing god—before it consumes her soul.
