When a woman is found brutally murdered in her New York apartment, all eyes turn to her estranged husband, a slick ad executive who has vanished on a cross-country drive. Picking up a mysterious drifter and a seductive barfly, he plunges into the heartland, leaving a trail of dread and suspicion. But the cop on his tail isn’t hunting for justice—he’s after a payoff, blending corruption with the chase. As the miles stretch into a nightmare of paranoia and desperation, the line between innocent and guilty blurs, and the open road becomes a killer’s playground.
