Imprisoned for a crime he swears he didn’t commit, So-dol is granted a brief, somber leave to bury his mother. Yet as he returns to his coastal village under the watchful eye of a prison guard, the sea itself turns sinister. A five-year-old corpse surfaces in the harbor, and the vital seaweed harvest rots overnight. Whispers of a vengeful spirit ripple through the town, and So-dol finds himself entangled in a web of long-buried secrets. As the guard digs deeper, the line between guilt and innocence blurs, and the true horror of what happened begins to writhe to the surface in this haunting 1977 Korean chiller.
