In the silent era’s shadowy realms, a frivolous heiress, Marie de Severac, is jolted from her carefree existence when her father weaves a chilling tale of retribution. As he spins the yarn of a woman whose vanity leads her to a fate worse than death—entombed alive within suffocating darkness—Marie’s world crumbles, and she is haunted by the specter of her own reflection. The line between cautionary tale and prophecy blurs, and every whisper of silk becomes a shroud, as the past threatens to entomb her spirit before her body meets the same gruesome end. Black Orchids is a masterful study in psychological dread, where the deadliest horrors are the ones we carry within.
