In the dusty, sun-scorched town of Mesquite, a series of brutal murders has left its prostitutes dead and the locals silent. When a sharp-witted private detective rides in from the East, he finds himself pitted against a grizzled sheriff who’d rather bury the truth than dig it up, and a cast of shifty-eyed townsfolk each nursing dark secrets. As the bodies pile up, the detective must navigate a labyrinth of lies, lust, and betrayal, where every handshake feels like a trap and every smile hides a knife. This atmospheric 1974 grindhouse gem oozes with grimy tension, offering a haunting glimpse into a town where morality is as cheap as a bottle of whiskey, and the only certainty is that someone is watching, waiting, and ready to strike.
